From there, electricity is handed over to your distribution company. It travels through smaller lines called feeders, which supply different neighborhoods.

That’s one reason two nearby areas can have different power experiences: they may be connected to different feeders.

One Last Stop

Before electricity enters your home, it passes through the transformer in your neighbourhood.

Its job is simple: reduce the voltage so it’s safe for your home and appliances.

Finally… Your House

The electricity passes through your meter and into your lights, sockets, TV, fridge, fan, and everything else you use every day.
